Our History

Adventist Outreach Kids (AOK) is a Seventh-Day Adventist, Bible-based youth and community outreach group committed to sharing the love of Jesus with others. Through children's programs, community events, and nursing home visits, we have been reaching out to the community of Durham - and beyond. It was started by Bel Orinda and Jaleigh Garmon in September 2011, with their friends in the back of their Pathfinder Director's (and former Head AOK advisor's) minivan. We are now a ministry of the Five Oaks Seventh-Day Adventist Church, located on the border of Durham & Chapel Hill in North Carolina. Please visit our church's website here.

The youth who started AOK were also Pathfinders. Pathfinders is a youth program run by our church, the worldwide Seventh-day Adventist Church. It's conceptually similar to Boy/Girl Scouts, but combines boys and girls into one group. To find out more, visit the official Pathfinder website here.
